TREE PLANTATION BY SNCF VOLUNTEERS IN MUMBAI

The Sant Nirankari Mission has been organizing various social welfare activities in India and abroad since many years. Service to humanity received a special encouragement when His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj constituted the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in April, 2010.

Consequently, the Mission is organizing blood donation camps, cleanliness and tree plantation drives, empowerment courses for women and youth and several health and education related activities through the Foundation in a big way. While the Mission welcomes other organizations engaged in voluntary community service to join hands, it also extends its whole-hearted cooperation to such organizations.

Guided by this spirit, the Foundation accepted an invitation from Shri Prakash Surve, MLA to plant trees in the National Park, Mumbai and maintain the same for 5 years. Shri Prakash Surve is to finance the project from the exclusive funds granted to him as MAL by Government of Maharashtra for welfare of the community.

The campaign was launched in the park on September 13, 2015 and inaugurated by the Shiv Sena Party Chief, Shri Uddhav Thackeray. Thousands of volunteers of the Foundation planted a large number of trees with an ultimate target of 1 lakh. The volunteers were dressed in their blue T-shirt with various slogans of the Mission. Volunteers came from Kandivali, Borivali, Gorai, Dahisar, Mira-Bhayander and Thane areas.

The Sant Nirankari Sewa Dal volunteers were present in their outfit to guide the participants and look after the arrangements.
