4th ANNUAL CHILDREN’S SUMMER CAMP HELD IN ROHINI IN NEW DELHI

With the divine blessings of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, a summer camp for kids was organized under the aegis of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, in the premises of Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 16, Rohini, New Delhi from May 23, 2015 to June 1, 2015. The 10-day camp was inaugurated by Rev J R D Satyarthi Ji, President Sant Nirankari Mandal in the presence of Shri Mohinder Goyal Ji, MLA.
In his augural address, Rev Satyarthi Ji said that such camps were true manifestation of living the divine message of His Holiness that ‘service to mankind is service to God’. He appreciated the enthusiastic spirit of the organizers and participants alike and prayed to God to bless them all with health and continued zeal to carry on with such noble acts. Such efforts are true examples of imbibing the human welfare related teachings of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, he said.
Shri Mohinder Goyal Ji too lauded this selfless act of the Mission and appreciated that such efforts were being made without any discrimination on the basis of religion or caste, gender or any other considerations. He thanked the Foundation for undertaking such voluntary activities.
Around 750 children from all over the neighbourhood actively participated in the camp. They were imparted practical training in varied areas of relevance and interest such as art and craft, cookery, music, dance, Mehndi, spoken English, etc. The programme, fully voluntary in nature and with no fee for the participants, was well coordinated by local volunteers of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation. About 40 teachers along with about 30 Nirankari Sewadars worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
In addition, the kids were also encouraged towards adopting an ethical and moral code of conduct. The importance of basic human values like respect for elders and universal brotherhood and tolerance was reinforced, which was well received by the participants. Additionally, character building literature published by Sant Nirankari Mandal, was distributed free of cost to the participants.
Various dignitaries who visited the camp and motivated the participants, included Shri Anil Sharma, Chairman Rohini Zone MCD, Shri Pravesh Wahi, local Councillor and Smt. Neelam Goyal, Dy Mayor. They appreciated this noble gesture of the Mission and extended all possible help in this initiative. Smt. Neelam specially asked that she be informed of all such initiatives undertaken by the Mission in future as she would be very keen to contribute in all such activities. The parents of the participants and the neighbourhood society at large acknowledged that such initiatives undertaken by the Mission were having profound positive impact all around.
Finally, the camp was successfully concluded on June 1, 2015, with the blessings of Rev S L Garg Ji Administrator, Prachar Vibhag, Sant Nirankari Mandal, in the presence of Rev Jagdish Malik Ji, Sanyojak Rohini and host of other dignitaries including Smt Shashi Gopal Ji Councillor. Rev Garg Ji appreciated the all-round developmental focus the camp was organized with. The knowledge and wisdom shared in such voluntary camps, in addition to being practically useful, also helps in raising self-awareness amongst the children. Such children are more likely to contribute meaningfully to the society.
