At Kanpur Central Railway Station about 800 volunteers of the Sant Nirankari Sewa Dal carried out the drive on October 2, 2015 under the guidance and supervision of Shri Sushil Puri Ji, Zonal Incharge and Shri Ramesh Chandra Kshetriya Sanchalak, Sewa Dal. They cleaned all the platforms and their surroundings including toilets.
The purpose was not only to clean the Railway Station but also to create awareness among passengers and other people about keeping the surroundings clean and remove pollution. One could see the banners throughout the Station with slogans like ‘Come, join the cleanliness drive’, ‘Love cleanliness,’ ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness’, etc.
The Railway officials as well as the passengers were very much impressed by the quality of work as also the spirit of discipline, devotion and dedication. They were particularly surprised to see men and women from well-to-do families taking part in this selfless service of the community.
