In Shimla, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organized World Environment Day on 5th June, 2018 by undertaking huge cleanliness drive at five locations viz. local bus stand, ISBT, Lower Bazar, Lakkar Bazar and Kamla Nehru Hospital. Around 1400 SNCF volunteers, Sewa Dal members and devotees participated in the drive.
The main function was held at Padam Dev Complex on Ridge, where distinguished guests like Mayor, Asstt Commissioner, SDM and ASP Shimla were seated. The Chief Guest Honorable Minister of Education and Law Sh Suresh Bhardwaj ji was received here by Rev S C Talwar Ji and Zonal Incharge Smt Rajwant Kaur Ji. Sh Bhardwaj deeply appreciated the activities being undertaken by SNCF as Cleanliness Drive, Tree Plantation and adoption of Kamla Nehru Hospital. He expressly mentioned SNCF as the largest voluntary Blood donor. Sh Bhardwaj was all praise for the socio-charitable activities of the SNCF and wished success and urged to keep up the good work. Smt Rajwant Kaur ji thanked all the dignitaries and the volunteers.
The programme also included playing Nukkad Natak at Ridge, The Mall, Gaiety Theater etc. A huge human chain holding placards was organized from KNH Hospital, Lower Bazar, The Mall to Ridge inspiring the general public to stay away from plastic use.
