In Manali, the programme started with the prayer at 8 am on Mall Road in which more than 500 volunteers of SNCF and Sewa Dal from Bilaspur, Mandi and Kullu Districts participated. Rev J S Khurana Ji Mukhya Sanchalak, Sewa Dal represented the Headquarters.
Blessing the participants Sh Khurana said that pollution both inside and outside is harmful for the society. Plastic pollution is specifically harmful as plastic cannot be destroyed. Cleanliness was undertaken first at the Mall Road and then at Mini Secretariat. After that the volunteers moved to the Van Vihar and river Beas banks where a lot of plastic wastes were picked up and the place cleaned. Here Nukar Natak was repeatedly played by the volunteers to spread the message not to use plastic. Later cotton bags were also distributed to the tourists and general public for creating awareness against the use of Plastic.
At 12 noon, Chief Guest Raman Gharsangi, SDM and Ashwani Kumar, joint Director, Mountaineering Institute were welcome by Rev J S Khurana Ji by offering a bouquet. Goody bags from Head Quarters were also offered to the guests. The SDM praised the Mission by declaring that this Mission is leading to save the environment from all corners. The SDM also praised SNCF for voluntarily donating blood at such a large scale. Joint Director Ashwani Kumar also praised the volunteers for working so selflessly. Later oath to save the environment was administered by Rev KC Dhiman, Kshetriya Sanchalak. At the end Rev Tej Singh Ji , Zonal Incharge thanked the chief guests and everybody present to make this programme successful. He also thanked the Distt administration for providing Ambulance services as also a Doctor in the programme.
