Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation Organizes World Environment Day in Mussoorie

In Mussoorie, the programme started with Prayers at 6 am on June 5, 2018. About 600 Volunteers, Sewadal and other devotees with the blessings of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj started the sewa after the holy address by Rev Narinder Singh Mama Ji, who represented the Headquarters. Rev S K Juneja, Regional Sanchalak was also present and inspired the volunteers to perform the sewa dedicatedly. While Shri Ganesh Joshi Ji, MLA was the chief guest, Shri O P Uniyal, Ex-Chairman of Nagarpalika also graced the occasion. Shri Berry and Shri Khullar from the Senior Citizens Club, Shri Gurcharan Singh Ji, Pardhan , Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and many other eminent personalities were also presnt.

The ceremony was followed by a thorough cleanliness drive at six different places viz Mall Road Trolly side to Library, Mall Road Picture Palace to Trolly, Arya Samaj Road, Ghantaghar to Kulri Bazar, South Road, Tehri Bus Stand and Camel Back Road. After thoroughly cleaning all these localities, Plantation was also done at Camel Back Road. School children from M G Inter College also joined the drive.

The main function was held at Garhwal Terrace on the Mall Road where the chief guest Shri Joshi ji appreciated the activities of the SNCF and remembered Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, who has contributed a lot for the development of town. Shri Joshi ji wished very well for the Mission and advised the organizers to continue this pious task. A team of ITBP officers also came and joined the proceedings. The speakers apprised about the plastic menace which is posing a great threat to our world. Plastic use has to be curbed if we have to save our seas and marine life.

The programme was marked by street play ( Nukkad Natak ) in all the localities of the town by young volunteers to inspire people to save the environment from pollution by planting and saving trees as also to shun the use of plastic. Special Piaos were arranged at all the six locations where clean drinking water free of cost was distributed to the tourists and general public.

Earlier pledge was sworn to all the people present to keep our environment clean and free of plastic. Jute/ Cloth bags were also freely distributed to the people and tourists inspiring them to stop use of plastic.
