Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation Organizes World Environment Day in Lonawala and Khandala

In Lonawala, the programme started with the prayer at 7.30 am at Nagarpalika Bhawan and more than 1800 volunteers of SNCF, Sewa Dal and others from Pune zone branches participated. Rev S L Garg ji, Additional Member (HRD) represented the Headquarters. Rev Shubhkaran Ji, Regional Sanchalak and Rev Tarachand Karamchandani Ji, Zonal Incharge, Pune also graced the occasion.

Blessing the participants Rev S L Garg Ji said that pollution both inside and outside is harmful for the society. Plastic pollution is specifically harmful as plastic cannot be destroyed. While cleanliness of the external world is important, the internal cleaning should also be focused, and in Sant Nirankari Mission hearts are being cleaned with the basis of Brahmgyan which is our basic philosophy. SNCF is regularly conducting the socio charitable activities like Blood Donation Camps, Mega Cleanliness Drives, Plantation drives etc. Then Pledge to keep our environment clean and free of plastic pollution was sworn to all the participants. Cleanliness was undertaken at Mumbai Pune Expressway, Khandala to Amrutanjan, Velven lake, Kaveri Farm, Lohagarh Garden, Raewood to Lonawala Dam Gate, INS to Bhushi, Tungarli Chowk to Gramin Police Station, Nagar Parishad Building and Mawala statue. Tree plantation was done at Bus Station and Thobarewadi. 200 saplings were planted.

Nukar Natak/ street play was repeatedly played by the volunteers of Pune zone at different places in Lonawala and Khandala to inspire people to spread the message not to use plastic as also to keep our environment neat and clean. Hundreds of local people gathered around the Nukad Natak spot and appreciated the efforts of SNCF.  They carried placards with slogans such as “Beat the plastic pollution”, “Reduce plastic, and Make your Life fantastic”, “World needs a solution, Beat the Plastic Pollution”.

Guest of Honour Mrs Surekha Jadhav Ji, President Lonawala Municipal Council was welcome by providing Goodie Bag and a Tulsi Pot. In her address she spoke over the importance of World Environment Day in our daily life and lauded the efforts of SNCF.  Mr ShridharPujari, Vice President, Smt Vrinda Ganatra, Chief Executive Officer Sh Sachin Pawar and some Councilors also graced the occasion. They appreciated the selfless services of SNCF towards the society. All the guests were greeted with Guddy Bags. Cloth bags were also distributed among the public inspiring them to shun the use of plastic.
