April 24, every year, witnesses countrywide conduction of blood donation camps as a part of Manav Ekta Diwas (Human Unity Day) to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji who laid down his life on this day in 1980 while crusading for truth, love, peace and unity. The devotees of the Mission have been participating in these blood donation camps with great enthusiasm and spirit of devotion considering the noble gesture as a part of their tribute to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, Chacha Partap Singh Ji and hundreds of other martyrs of the Mission.
In Mumbai, a centralised blood donation camp was organized at the Satsang Bhawan, Chembur, with the participation of four blood banks which included JJ Metro Blood Bank, L.T. Sion Hospital Blood Bank, Sant Nirankari Blood Bank, Ville Parle Bhawan and Triumph Blood Bank from Thane. The Sant Nirankari Blood Bank which was inaugurated by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on January 26, 2016 was participating in the camp for the first time. The saints from all over Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane zone came with full enthusiasm and zeal to donate blood. In all a total number of 632 devotees donated their blood.
The camp was conducted with the help of the local unit of the Nirankari Sewadal, volunteers of the Foundation, the medical team headed by Dr. R.S. Yadav, Maruti Kasare and others. Amongst other dignitaries of the Mission who were present at the occasion were, Shri Babubhai, Shri Lalit Dalvi, Shri Shankar Sonawane and J.P. Upadhyay.
Earlier in the morning, Dr. R.S. Yadav, Incharge of the Medical Department of Sant Nirankari Mission, Mumbai inaugurated the camp.
Neeta Dange, PRO, JJ Hospital said that their organization is associated with Nirankari Blood Donation drives from last 6 years and they always look forward for this event. She further added that it is always well organized and managed. The PRO of Sion Hospital claimed that Nirankari Blood Donation Camp is the role model donation camp, they see love, care and zeal in people who come to donate blood.
