254 Devotees Donated Blood in Lucknow

With the blessings of Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organized a blood donation camp at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Lucknow on Sunday, May 7, 2017, where 254 devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission including 62 women donated their blood. Eleven camps were organized in Uttar Pradesh on April 24, 2017 when a countrywide series was launched with a total of 76 blood donation camps in almost all the States. The places covered in Uttar Pradesh included Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Kanpur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Jhansi.

The camp was inaugurated by the Uttar Pradesh Minister for Child and Women Development, Prof. (Dr.) Reeta Bahuguna Joshi. Addressing the congregation being held along with the camp in the Satsang Bhawan, the Hon’ble Minister said that Sant Nirankari Mission is spreading the message of Universal Brotherhood and guiding the society in right direction when the whole world is suffering from discord and conflicts due to one reason or the other. She appreciated the youth and women devotees taking interest in the social welfare activities of the Mission. She said that she has herself donated blood for about 25 times. She stressed on the fact that donating blood does not cause any weakness, while it is the noblest form of donation.

Presiding over the congregation, Rev. Kirpa Sagar Ji, Member Incharge, Press and Publicity Department, Sant Nirankari Mandal from Delhi said that the series of blood donation camps that starts every year from April 24 is to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji on this day in 1980. The Mission celebrates this day as Manav Ekta Diwas and pays tributes to hundreds of devotees who also laid down their lives while preaching the message of the Mission. To the followers of the Mission, blood donation, has, therefore, become a part of devotion. He said that they are always ready to serve humanity because they understand here that mankind is one big family. They do not have any feeling of favour or obligation.

Rev. Susheel Kumar Puri Ji, Zonal Incharge, Kanpur and Rev. Notan Das Ji Sanyojak Lucknow also addressed the gathering and thanked the Hon’ble Minister and the devotees, specially the donors of blood.

A team of over 20 doctors and paramedical staff from King George’s Medical University, Balrampur Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow assisted in the successful culmination of the camp under the guidance of Dr. Tulika Chandra from KGMU, Dr. ML Pushkar from Balrampur Hospital and Dr. Himanshu and Dr. Abha Srivastava from SGPGI.

Dr. (Mrs,) Rhythm, KGMU also donated blood and said “I feel blessed that I am contributing to humanity in some way. Similarly, Dr. Promila Verma, Dr. Shalendra Srivastava and Dr. Vivek Bains also donated blood.

Earlier Rev. Kirpa Sagar Ji welcomed the Hon’ble Minister with a shawl on behalf of the Sant Nirankari Mandal.

Rev. Kirpa Sagar Ji also addressed a Press Conference on May 5 and explained the genesis, growth and achievement of the blood donation movement and other welfare activities of the Mission.
